More About Me...

Hi, my name is Harlem and this is the companion website for the Fresh Ubuntu Podcast. I am the host of the show and along with my co-host Peter, we do a somewhat weekly account about anything that has to do with Ubuntu. Thanks for dropping by the site. Feel free to have a look around and click on some of the great links on the site. Enjoy!

Another Tid-Bit...

One last thing - I started the podcast in July of 2006, and we have been going strong since then. Initially, it started as my first forays into linux, but now has grown up a bit by delivering the best news, how-to's, and tutorials - all with a bent towards the Ubuntu distro. Subscribe for free using iTunes or other podcast receiver. Thanks again for dropping by!

Ubuntu Live Conference Podcast

I attended the Ubuntu Live conference in the beautiful city of Portland Oregon and had the good fortune of interviewing Jono Bacon the “Community Manager” for Ubuntu, Gerry Carr, the Marketing Manager for Canonical, and none other than Mark Shuttleworth. If you haven’t seen the post with the pictures on it you might want to take a look at it as it adds to the ambience.

I must admit I was a little nervous in the interviews, this was after all impromtu and basically a shot in the dark. I recovered from my shock after the day was done but it was just a huge rush for me.

Well without further ado, here is the podcast in mp3 format and OGG format

When I click on the ogg link it says:

The specified item cannot be found or its XML is unparseable…
Feel free to report this so that we can fix the problem.

There is no mp3 link. However when I click on the RSS feed I can download the mp3

The mp3 link is embedded into the page so can only be played while on the page. clicking on the OGG link will take you to another page where it will automatically start playing. I jsut got done testing this on Firefox. Subscribing to the feed is the best way to get the podcast or if you would like you can also download the mp3 at http://freshubuntu.blogspot.com

    Sorry for the inconvenience:(

I am subscribed through iTunes and I was excited to see the new podcast pop up.
Thanks for the heads up in the cast, it turned out great. I am very happy to be on board and I am glad I could help at the conference.

    Harlem,
You may have been very nervous but I couldn’t really tell that from the audio. Nice work on the interviews. Thanks. TS

Surprise podcast. Good questions/answers for the time available. Enjoyed listening to Mark, Jono and Gerry…an asset to Ubuntu. Keep the podcasts coming!

Thanks, I enjoyed doing the interviews but again since this was my first time to meet them I was a tad nervous. I have also thought of some better questions to ask them and I kick myself everytime I think of a new one. I think I will save up the questions the next time I meet them.
