Command Line Command of the Week: cal
This command displays, yep you guessed it, a calendar.
SYNTAX
cal [-mjy] [[month] year]
options:
-m Display monday as the first day of the week.
-j Display julian dates (days one-based, numbered from January 1).
-y Display a calendar for the current year.
A single parameter specifies the 4 digit year (1 - 9999) to be displayed.
Two parameters denote the Month (1 - 12) and Year (1 - 9999).
If arguments are not specified, the current month is displayed.
A year starts on 01 Jan.

I have Edgy up and running on my Dell Inspiron 8000. I spent ALL of last weekend installing Breezy - finally got it by Sunday night. Tried to update to Dapper the next day - totally fried it. Tried installing Edgy off the disk and failed. Installed Dapper off the alternate disk and got it - though with some issues that needed tweaking - mostly video. Decided to try to upgrade to Edgy just to see what would happen (cause what did I have to lost at that point). Took about 4.5 hours to install, rebooted and couldn’t launch X. Found help online that said how to reinstall xorg and Edgy booted just fine. Not sure if everything is perfect, but I can say that I now have a working laptop that my boss was going to throw away because it was too old.

Hello, Harlem. I have been listening to your podcast since the beginning and I had to write and tell you how much I’ve enjoyed it. I am not by any means a linux noob as I have 1 linux LAMP server and 1 linux desktop on my desk. But, I still find myself picking up very useful nuggets from time to time. The podcast keeps getting better and I look forward to it every week. Keep up the great work.
