More About Me...

Hi, my name is Harlem and this is the companion website for the Fresh Ubuntu Podcast. I am the host of the show and along with my co-host Peter, we do a somewhat weekly account about anything that has to do with Ubuntu. Thanks for dropping by the site. Feel free to have a look around and click on some of the great links on the site. Enjoy!

Another Tid-Bit...

One last thing - I started the podcast in July of 2006, and we have been going strong since then. Initially, it started as my first forays into linux, but now has grown up a bit by delivering the best news, how-to's, and tutorials - all with a bent towards the Ubuntu distro. Subscribe for free using iTunes or other podcast receiver. Thanks again for dropping by!

OK, Sorry that I am taking so long with the shownotes, it’s just that I put the podcast together last night and I just did’nt have it in me to write the shownotes. But, on the other hand this show doesn’t really need shownotes (I kid, I kid, lol). Not surprisingly by the title of the show we had a special guest on this week. This time we have an international guest who hails from “across the pond” as Peter put it, Alan Pope of the UBuntu UK podcast, among other things. We had a great time putting the show together and Alan made for a great interview and added depth to the news segment. Also, guess who called in with a suggestion and I’ll just reiterate it here, he’s looking for a tech-y, geek-y type job. Well, the links are below so enjoy the podcast.

    Hi Harlem–

    The test worked! ;-)

I’ve been listening to the podcast for a long time, you guys do an excellent job. I’ll be listening to Alan’s podcast as well.

    Great wallpaper, btw!

    Keep it up!

Hi Harlem and Galactic Overlord Peter,

This comment is in regards to a question Randy had on the voice mail. If you are looking for a site about thumb drive Linux installations check out Pendrivelinux.com. They have tutorials on installing Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, SUSE, SLAX, NimbleX, and other distributions.

I am a long time listener and love the show. I put a post on my blog about Fresh Ubuntu when Harlem was just starting out. I am glad to see the show improve since then in both content and audio quality. Keep up the good work!

Oh I almost forgot, being that Peter is calling himself the “Galatic Overload”, you might want to warn him about a guy named Xenu. In Scientology he is ruler of a Galactic Confederacy consisting of 26 stars and 76 planets. According to the beliefs of Scientology, after paralyzing his victims he freezes them in a mixture of alcohol and glycol. Then he has them loaded onto DC-8 space planes and brought to volcanoes on planet Earth. Next, Hydrogen Bombs are lowered into the center of the volcanoes. Finally, Xenu simultaneously detonates the bombs scattering disembodied souls every which way.

Do a search on Xenu in Wikipedia and you can read all about it. Or, better yet, watch South Park Season 9 Episode 137 “Trapped in the Closet”. Not a guy Peter would be wise to mess with.

    Cheers
