Snow Day

Shownotes

It is now mid-Febraury and many parts of the United States have been hit with massive snow storms. which is exactly what happened to my co-host Peter. He had a lot of work to do around his place, but, contributed all of the links that we offer to you today. Thanks Peter for doing a fine job and as soon as my media fast is over I will pick up more of the slack:) Much of the stuff we talked about was really pushing the six-degrees-of-Jono-Bacon idea but nevertheless was pertinent to our technological and virtual lives. Of couse, we ranted a bit about the Microsoft-Yahoo hostile bid, and offered some speculation on how Yahoo got itself into this mess. It is now Monday the 11th of February, the day I am uploading the files onto the servers and publishing it to the blog. And, source on the internet say that Yahoo has rejected Microsofts offer and might be in talks with Google! I doubt that a Google-Yahoo merger will ever take place but fun to think about. On other topics, we covered virtualization with Parallels and True Crypt encryption technology, both tools I happen to think will become buzzwords for the year 2008. One last thing, we don't have a "Man Page Minute" this week for good reason (snow) so it is just the news and of course our ever present rants on news from the Ubuntu front. Stay with us for more and I have included the links to the topics below. Have a great day!
