Shownotes

I just want to say Happy New year to all of you and thanks for making 2007 a year to remember! As I/we get set for another year of bigger and better things for our favorite distro. I have been mulling around a few things for this year and, hopefully, I will be adding a video feed perhaps sometime in the middle of summer. Just as long as I can nail down the technical specifics of the whole videocast "thing". This year one of my main resolutions is to not edit the podcast as much as I have been doing. You may not realize it, but, you soon will, that I do a modicum of editting on the podcast to get all the "umms", "uhhs", and "you know" out of the audio stream. For the most part, editting took the better part of my days off and I decided to discontinue the practice this year for my own sanity. This entails a number of things, first that I must work on my speaking and reasoning skills, something I am not used to doing:P But In order to provide a better listening experience I am going to have to. Secondly, the precise addition of other segments may not make sense until I have gotten the format on a solid foundation. So, expect a few hiccups as the podcast yet again goes through a series of growing pains. I am also planning to upgrade the site to the latest and greatest installation of Wordpress, and perhaps in the distant future to switch over entirely to Drupal. How that is going to happen? I am not sure yet, nor am I sure when it will happen. But, eventually it will. It looks like 2008 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Ubuntu with a proposed LTS release of the upcoming hardy heron version. Kubuntu is also throwing a wrench in the works by releasing and upgrade to the vaunted KDE GUI, but Ubuntu is not promising a LTS release of Kubuntu. could this be possibly due to KDE development team adding their own compiz type features not compatible with compiz? Whow knows for certain as this has yet to play out. Also, as Linux use hits critical mass continue the adoption rate of Ubuntu to quicken gain ground in minds of computer users around the world. I hope you enjoy the podcast:)

I am one-handed as well and found these websites. I remember speaking to a vendor once of chorded keyboards. He said he sold chorded keyboards to the Navy so Submariners can do complex navigation control with one hand. I bet they bought controls that would work for games - too bad they're devices may not be on the open market.
