Shownotes

There is not a whole lot to say here other than we had guest from all over the world come on the show and tell about their experience with Hardy Heron.  Included in teh discussion besides Peter and I, were none other than good friend of the podcast Knightwise and Cafeninja, Jason Watkins, Chad Wolllenberg from the Linux Basement Podcast, and our good friend from the Ubuntu-UK podcast Alan Pope and Tony Whitmore along with folks from Canonical Jorge Castro and Mike Basinger.  I think we could have gone all night talking about Ubuntu and the wonderful things it has done but the guys in Prague just couldn't stay away from cave men:) See the restaurant link below. Here are some of the links mentioned in the podcast, njoy:

Great podcast! Just one

Great podcast!

Just one comment: The versions of the applications the distro is released with, are the ones supported for the life time of the release. So if you want FF3 to be supported in hardy, you need to ship it now, with all its dependencies. If you ship FF2, with old libraries, which other apps depend on, you'd be stuck with old apps for the whole release cycle, or until all these libraries and apps can be updated at the same time... which is also quite risky.

And one tip: rename you Firefox profile directory, or create a new one starting it like this: "firefox -ProfileManager". I updated from gutsy, and got a crashy firefox until I created a new profile. It works great now.

Just my 2 cents... :P
