Compiz Enabled!

Posted by Harlem

yes!  Finally!  with the help of a reader and perhaps listener of Fresh Ubuntu I have successfully enabled the compiz feature on my Jaunty Jackalope install.  I can say with all honesty that most everything works, at least that I know of.  But, if I find something that is a bit wacky i will be sure to let everyone know.  Many thanks to Everett Attebury for giving me the heads up on the updated Compiz package in the jaunty-proposed repos.  Here is a link to the comment left by Everett here
BTW, if you are wondering how to enable the Jaunty-proposed repos follow these instructions:

  1. Head over to System>>Administration>>Software Sources in the menu
  2. Once there click onteh updates tab
  3. Check the Pre-released Updates box
  4. Press Close, then reload when prompted

After that you can run the Update Manager to install any updates present or wait until your computer automatically checks for updates to install them.  Have fun with this.
