Feedback

Good morning Peter and Harlem,  Thank you for the doing show,  Poo-Wee, Its about as high-a tech as it gets here in good ole' south Louisiana.  Seriously though,  I would like to share a recent experience with the Freshubuntu podcast and its listeners.  A few weeks back,  my largest client granted me permission to install dropbox so that I could gain easy access to my files.  I started using portableapps.exe on an old windows 32bit XP machine in the root of my dropbox folder.  I though that was a slick trick.  Later that day I decided to go to dropbox on my ubuntu laptop and try to run portableapps through wine.  Right click,  open with wine, and the screenshot you see is the result.  All those applications run natively through wine/portableapps inside dropbox.  Also,  it may be worth mentioning that the laptop OS is a 64bit version of 9.10 desktop install.

P.S.  Evernote doesn't crop my screenshots!

Thanks for reading,

David Burgess

You guys will love this:

http://lmgtfy.com/

"Let me google that for you"

Tired of telling non-tech people how to google?  You enter the search, and then it creates a link to an animation which shows someone how to enter it into the google search box.  It then redirects to the google search result.  I think the idea is to (in a tongue-in-cheek way) teach people how to type something into a search box.  For example:

Hi-guys,,,
 I hate Ubuntu!!! LOL!!!!
While upgrading to 9.10 on my laptop - HP compaq presario V2630....It destroyed my grub!!!
Now I can't boot my system.....I've been to my LUG - NO help totally!!!
Larry at going linux seems the BEST!!  But, using this URL
 http://stringofthoughts.wordpress.com/2009/05/24/grub-error-17-debianubuntu/
gets me no where!!!
I'm hoping to reinstall 8.10 which I have....Question:  Will that install over itself in the right partition, NOT destroying windows XP and fix the grub crap?
Thanks Guys,,,,have a happy Ubuntu!!!  Holiday..
John in Dallas.

Shownotes

We are back and frankly we missed being on the air.  After me and Peter caught up with each other we just dove right in and started where we left off.  I wish I could say more than that but there really isn't much to say other than it's good to be back in the saddle.  Below are the links mentioned in the show:

Shownotes

Hey gang, Peter and i would like to wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July!  This weeks episode is filled with lots of news, commentary and user feed back!  Yay!  so we just didn't book an interview this week and just decided to keep it simple:)  I haven't got much to say about the podcast other than "we have a few more to go until our hiatus" so, enjoy it as much as we enjoy making them:)
