More About Me...

Hi, my name is Harlem and this is the companion website for the Fresh Ubuntu Podcast. I am the host of the show and along with my co-host Peter, we do a somewhat weekly account about anything that has to do with Ubuntu. Thanks for dropping by the site. Feel free to have a look around and click on some of the great links on the site. Enjoy!

Another Tid-Bit...

One last thing - I started the podcast in July of 2006, and we have been going strong since then. Initially, it started as my first forays into linux, but now has grown up a bit by delivering the best news, how-to's, and tutorials - all with a bent towards the Ubuntu distro. Subscribe for free using iTunes or other podcast receiver. Thanks again for dropping by!

Bugmaster

Episode 73 Ogg Vorbis File

Peter and I had a great interview with the one and only Bugmaster, who BTW just happens to live in the great state of Oregon! He gave us some keen insight on what a bug is, and how users, even new ones, can submit a bug through the porper channels. Also, our regular contributor, Emmett Stewart, gave us a fantastic tutorial on the CUT command in our Man Page Minute segment. Below are the links mentioined on the show in chronological order almost:) NJOY!

Episode 72 Ogg Vorbis File

This week we had some interesting news to cover and among them was the blueprint for the next release of Ubuntu dubbed Intrepid Ibex. Yes, it almost feels too soon but judging by all the work that goes into every release it couldn’t be soon enough. Of the things being touted in the upcoming release is the term “ubiquitous connectivity”, yes, wifi woes could be coming to an end very soon. And we can only hope and pray that this comes to pass. But, the main part of the program features an interview with Mike Basinger who kindly joined us for nice little interview about the forums and membership. Overall, Peter and I had a great time with Mike and mad for another great show. Thanks for listening in:)

Lots of News

Episode 71 Ogg Vorbis File

It was only Peter and I this week, but that’s ok. We did Just fine despite the long distance and the poor internet connection. I was on Skype and Peter was on a cell phone and to all intents and purposes the sound was not too bad. I really haven’t got much to write about today so I will just post the links and be on my way. We will, of course, return to more regular programming next week. Have a great weekend everyone:)

Hardy +1 Month Roundtable

Epsode 70 - Ogg Vorbis File

There is not a whole lot to say here other than we had guest from all over the world come on the show and tell about their experience with Hardy Heron.  Included in teh discussion besides Peter and I, were none other than good friend of the podcast Knightwise and Cafeninja, Jason Watkins, Chad Wolllenberg from the Linux Basement Podcast, and our good friend from the Ubuntu-UK podcast Alan Pope and Tony Whitmore along with folks from Canonical Jorge Castro and Mike Basinger.  I think we could have gone all night talking about Ubuntu and the wonderful things it has done but the guys in Prague just couldn’t stay away from cave men:) See the restaurant link below. Here are some of the links mentioned in the podcast, njoy:

Geat podcast today and I truly wish I could do more podcasts like this, just plain old banter and verbal jousting. Maybe in the summer when I get really lazy:) So, here is a little background on the podcast. Initially we were going to have the roundtable this week, but it coincided with the Ubuntu Developers Summit which is taking place in Prague in what was formerly known as “Czechoslovakia” and currently know as the Czech Republic (okay so my forte is not world geography). However, the fellas joining us who were scheduled to join us for the roundtable did not receive the memo that we were postponing the show and joined in the fun anyway. And those folks were Alan Pope and Dave Walker of the Ubuntu-UK Podcast. They happily provided some useful banter and unusual insight on the news. As peter stated, it was the longest news segment ever but we both agreed that it was just a long banter session with a little bit of news tossed in for flavor. I will also have them along next week as well during our roundtable. so here are the links to the show and I hope you enjoyed the podcast.
