Intro

Hey everyone, I hope all is going well with all of you and that you are gearing up for a great summer of Ubuntu freshness.  I've been playing around with Jaunty and so far I like.  Not everything was perfect as I explain in the podcast.  Forn one thing, I was unable to get Compiz going.  But eventually found a fix for it which I blogged about.  But, also, the laptop runs a bit hotter than usual, and believe me it isn't because I am a real power user with tons of apps running in the background.  There are several issues involved for sure that I am still investigating but I can live with the heat for now.  Just keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't ruin the trusty ol' laptop.  Well, I hope you enjoy the podcast and feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email or even tweet me on twitter, bye.

Hello,

in your last show you talked about google and using a lot of their services. A few people are worried about that (including me), but for some of their services there are good alternatives.

Since a few month now, I am using Tiny Tiny RSS instead of Google Reader for my rss feeds. It's a great app, easy to install on your own server and nice to use.

Hi guys
It is me again with some more stuff for you to ponder from websites around the world.

Here is a link that may be of interest:

Microsoft might be betting big on Windows 7, the next version of its flagship operating system, but to Ubuntu Linux founder Mark Shuttleworth, the upcoming release is really an opportunity for Linux to shine.
