More About Me...

Hi, my name is Harlem and this is the companion website for the Fresh Ubuntu Podcast. I am the host of the show and along with my co-host Peter, we do a somewhat weekly account about anything that has to do with Ubuntu. Thanks for dropping by the site. Feel free to have a look around and click on some of the great links on the site. Enjoy!

Another Tid-Bit...

One last thing - I started the podcast in July of 2006, and we have been going strong since then. Initially, it started as my first forays into linux, but now has grown up a bit by delivering the best news, how-to's, and tutorials - all with a bent towards the Ubuntu distro. Subscribe for free using iTunes or other podcast receiver. Thanks again for dropping by!

Ubuntu Phallicy

I just read on Digg about Ubuntus supposed phallic symbol! To be honest with you I haven’t read the post yet, and I may update the blog as soon as I do. My initial thoughts are, “hmmm…I realize in some polls that 98% of linux users are male but should we resort to this to attract a more female user base? Here is the link:

And now Novell is says Windows is cheaper???? What is this all about. Apparently, Novell doesn’t just use SLED, but a host of other distros as well? I don’t know about this, it seems an like and obvious statement against the rising tide of open source adoption. Of course there is probably money involved in one way or another either directly or indirectly. here is the link to that:

And lastly, Gnome 2.18.0 is out and ready for use!! On time (take that Mocrosoft) no less. How do they do that? Here is the link:
